This is our most recent effort. We recorded this in 2008. Many thanks to Al Payson for all his patient and loving help. This album is "what it is" because of him. He will be missed. Also great thanks to Phil Mcarthur for all his help on the mastering. Phil came along at exactly the right time and helped to finish this monstor of a project. So many things to like on these tracks. The interaction, the funk, the production all mix together to create some really fun music. Everyone plays with great sincerity. So far the critics have had great things to say about what they hear on these cuts. I sing on three cuts, but the meat of the music is in the instrumental stuff. Traveler
was recorded in 2005 with
Kim Plainfield on drums and Al Payson on Bass.
As usual, there is much Midi guitar to hear here. I also
sing on two cuts. All the guitar parts were done with Guitar
Rig, a amp simulating computer program. I think the guitar
sounds came out great.

Summer Funk
These tracks were recorded in the spring of 2000. Thierry Arpino is drumming and Al Payson is Bassing. The Midi guitar stuff is a little more developed here. I especially enjoy the interactions we get into. Hear a shortened version of the title track "Summer Funk". |

Woodwork
These recordings were done in the summer of 1999. I had been getting a great deal of duet gigs that summer and Dave Keys and I really started to click. We were mainly doing jazz standards and some of my originals. So we recorded five standards and one original. We received hearty reviews and have used the CD to get many a gig (I wish Dave was in town more often). Its great playing the standards. Its like taking a shower. My Treehouse
This is the second of two childrens recordings I did with Barbara Baker. I was trained by Barbara to work with kids doing ealy childhood development through music and movement. She and I wrote and recorded two albums that we used in the classes (Yea, back in those days they were called "albums"). If you click on the image to the right, you can check out my sorry singing on the title track "My Treehouse". I think I was going through a Muddy Waters stage when we recorded this track. Its kind of funny... Hear an excerpt of "My Treehouse" |

The Dinner Party
This was our first album as a trio. Al Payson on bass. Nick Saya on drums. Great players both. Nick hates this picture of him. He says it makes him look like a troll. I wanted the artist to portray us in a much more sinister/angular way. Instead we look like characters out of "Tim Buck Two". Anyway, good fusion on this one. No guitar synth though. This recording was in 1995, before I returned to using guitar synth stuff in my music. Al and I had great fun recording the sound effects between the tracks. I dont think I ever laughed so hard. Pocket Science
Pocket Science was my first official Jazz/Fusion recording under my own name. It was recorded in the early 90s, and was a quartet (keys bass, drums, guitar). When I listen back to these recordings I still like the songs and performances, although we've really come a long way since then. Hear an excerpts from Pocket Science "Pocket Science Demos" |

Jungle Jam
This was my first kids recording. I started working for Barbara Baker doing early childhood development with music in 1992. She and I started writing kids songs together and decided to make some recordings. I'm told by the moms who buy these tapes that their kids play them till they break.
